------------------------The Concept- When a visitor arrives in the gallery, the space announces their presence with a halo that forms around the individual's feet. As the space senses more individuals, it seeks to foster interaction and relationship building by drawing a connecting line from one person to another. While connecting people, the space itself goes through a transformation, changing colors as more and more people enter and are connected.

------------------------ Project Overview- Connections is a digital installation that's goal is to induce and facilitate physical interaction through digital visual design. Using current technology and open source development programs, Connections establishes a physical environment that fosters interpersonal interaction.

------------------------The Audience- Connections will be on display during Flourish's open hours as well as during most of the many special events and regular classes that are held there. Connections will also be utilized extensively by the therapists in residence, the event coordinators, and the many people who frequent Flourish Studios. Because of the amazing extensibility of the project each person who experiences Connections will be able to bring away something unique. A Highly Publicized Opening- Families and indviduals that visit Flourish for events, therapy sessions at the Studio For Change , and explore the well-being store. Local Business leaders who frequent Flourish for conferences, networking events, and self-optimizing classes. Children and their parents that come for the many classes

------------------------ The Technology- The technology involved is simply a modified infrared camera, a computer, and two projectors. The camera senses infrared "blobs" whose coordinates are translated to a program developed to understand the incoming signals. The program displays a visual representation of the project overview using two projectors mapped to the space.

A Fire wire Infrared Camera capable of capturing a frame-rate of at least 30fps at 800x600 resolution

A well-powered and compact computer with a decent graphics engine. Preferably a late-model mac mini. Custom Developed software by leading software developers, designed by Leon Grant Bussinger Modified mounting hardware and connecting cables. estimated total project cost is $4,500

------------------------ The Designer- Leon Grant Bussinger is a digital designer based out of Chicago. During the day he develops engaging multimedia and interactive content for all mediums as an independent contractor for clients across the nation. When not building websites and animating motion graphics, he explores the ever-evolving world of technology development and digital design. More specifically, person to person interaction through digital visuals and new social media.
